BMKG Predicts Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Bandung, And Central Jakarta Will Be Rained Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts rain in Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Bandung City, and Central Jakarta (Jakpus) today, Thursday, November 3.

Based on the BMKG report, light to heavy rain fell in a number of major cities in Indonesia starting at noon. The details are as follows:

Light rain during the day is forecast in Denpasar, Serang, Gorontalo, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Palangka Raya, Pangkal Pinang, Tanjung Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Ambon, Manokwari, Mamuju and Makassar.

Rain that can be accompanied by lightning is forecasted in Bandung City during the day, while Yogyakarta and Mataram are likely to face moderate rain and Medan City is facing the potential for heavy rain.

Weather for the cities of Banda Aceh, Jambi, Samarinda, Tarakan, Jayapura, Palembang, and Padang is forecasted to be cloudy, while the cities of Bengkulu, Central Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Ternate, Kupang, Pekanbaru, Kendari and Manado are cloudy during the day.

In the evening, light rain is forecast in Denpasar, Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Gorontalo, Bandung, Surabaya, Banjarmasin, Palangka Raya, Samarinda, Bandar Lampung, Pekanbaru, Mamuju and Palembang.

Tarakan City is forecasted to experience rain accompanied by lightning and Medan City faces the potential for heavy rain at night.

The weather for the cities of Pontianak, Pangkal Pinang, Ternate, Mataram, Kupang, Kendari, and Padang is forecast to be cloudy at night, while the cities of Banda Aceh, Serang, Jambi, Semarang, Tanjung Pinang, Ambon, Jayapura, Manokwari, Makassar, and Manado are cloudy.

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reminded the public to always be aware of the possibility of a hydrometeorological disaster.

"There is no time for us in one year to be unwary of a wet hydrometeorological disaster," said Abdul Muhari, Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center.
