Golkar Denies Electability Drops Due To Half-Hearted Party Machine Supports Airlangga Candidate 2024

JAKARTA - Golkar Party politician Melkiades Laka Lena denies that his party's electability has fallen in the survey results due to the party machine still working half-heartedly in support of General Chair Airlangga Hartarto to run for the 2024 presidential election.

He emphasized that until now the Golkar Party's machine has continued to work for the community according to Airlangga's command.

“The Golkar machine has continued to move dynamically since 2019. The handling of COVID-19 has become a place for Golkar to work and serve, as well as a media for consolidating machines and party figures to work to serve the community in various fields and roles carried out by the executive, legislative, and functionaries in various community work in central and regional," said Melki, Tuesday, November 1, evening.

The chairman of the DPD Golkar NTT said that Golkar was well aware of the importance of building cohesiveness in the movements toward the community. Therefore, all cadres to the grassroots are moving to the field to help the community.

"The Golkar Party as a combination of parties based on a strong system and reliable figures continues to consolidate organizations to answer the challenges of the community. Mr. Airlangga and the ranks of the PG DPP, as well as party administrators in the regions to the village level, continue to move to utilize all the potential of the Golkar Party and continue to help the community, said Melki.

The tumultuous survey results discussed were electability, said Melki, that did not make Golkar forget its duties. "That is present in the midst of people's lives," he said.

As previously reported, the results of the Saiful Mujani Research & Consulting survey regarding the latest political parties showed the PDI-P's electability jumped from 19.3 percent to 24 percent.

In second place, Gerindra rose from 12.6 percent to 13.4 percent. On the other hand, Golkar's electability decreased from 12.3 percent to 8.5 percent.
