BMKG Predicts Heavy Rain In East And South Jakarta Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning in a number of areas in Indonesia. The prediction includes covering West Java, Aceh, and some points in Jakarta.

The BMKG warned that heavy rains could fall in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, Banten, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, D.I. Yogyakarta, and East Java.

Heavy rain also has the potential to occur in West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, Papua. West and Papua.

Meanwhile, the areas of Bali and Southeast Sulawesi can experience rain with lower intensity.

Several large cities are also forecasted to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning today, such as Banda Aceh, Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Gorontalo, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, Bandar Lampung, Pekanbaru, Mamuju, and Medan.

For the DKI Jakarta area, light rain has the potential to fall in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. Meanwhile, South Jakarta and East Jakarta are forecasted to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning.

Based on the Antara report, the BMKG warned that the provinces of Aceh and West Java were in the alert category for the impact of heavy rains such as floods.

For the alert category, it is given to North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Bangka Belitung Island, Riau Island, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, D.I. Yogyakarta, East Java, Banten and Bali.
