JAKARTA - The community's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not misunderstood the investigation into alleged riots in Papua. This step was taken to improve the welfare of the people on Earth of Cendrawasih.

"The total realization of the flow of special autonomy funds (otsus) and additional infrastructure funds (DTI) from 2002 to 2021 for the provinces of Papua and West Papua has reached IDR 138.65 trillion. Meanwhile, transfer funds to regions and village funds (TKDD) from 2005-2022 reached IDR 702.3 trillion," he said.

"It is very unfortunate if this gifted land is managed incorrectly, it is even suspected that there have been modes of corruption," continued Ali.

Previously reported, the KPK revealed that the three regional heads in Papua who were suspects were the inactive Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng, the inactive Central Mamberamo Regent Ricky Ham Pagawak, and Papua Governor Lukas Enembe.

Regarding the determination of Lukas Enembe, the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto said there were several cases that ensnared him.

"There are several cases that are being handled regarding LE (Lukas Enembe) not only one, yes. We are currently handling several cases," said Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 21.

Karyoto did not elaborate on the case against Lukas. However, he said the allegation originated from public reports.
