KPK Asks Mardani Maming To Reveal His Company

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked former Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H. Maming to reveal his company before investigators. This request is to investigate allegations of bribery and mining license gratification (IUP) that ensnared him.

This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, regarding Mardani's presence at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Thursday, August 25 yesterday. At that time, Mardani was seen wearing a white shirt and an orange vest for anti-corruption commission prisoners.

"We confirmed that it was related to the companies, the knowledge of the suspect himself", Ali told reporters, Friday, August 26.

Ali stated that the KPK had data on the company owned by Mardani. So, investigators continue to confirm.

Even if Mardani does not want to be open about his company, continued Ali, that is his right as a suspect. However, the KPK confirmed that it had evidence related to the alleged bribery that ensnared him.

"A suspect has the right to not even answer. But again, a suspect's statement is only part of one piece of evidence. There are still five pieces of evidence, such as witness statements, instructions, letters, and expert statements", he said.

"Even if the suspect doesn't admit it, it doesn't matter to us. Because it's only part of one piece of evidence", Ali added.

Previously, the KPK had named Mardani a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification of mining business permits in Tanah Bumbu Regency. He was identified as a suspect recipient.

Meanwhile, as the giver, Hendry Soetio who is the controller of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) was declared dead.

Even though he died, the KPK confirmed that investigators had received evidence related to Mardani's acceptance. Mardini allegedly received money from Hendry from 2014 to 2020 reaching Rp. 104.3 billion, which was received through trusted people and his company.
