Hospital Development Plan In Jayawijaya, Regency Government Waits For Ministry Of Health's Decision

PAPUA - The Jayawijaya Regency Government (Pemkab) awaits a follow-up from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding the plan to build a hospital (RS) in the area.

Head of the Jayawijaya Health Service, Doctor Willy Mambieuw in Wamena, said that until now there has been no change in the plan to build the health service facility.

"So actually we from the district have no problem, we just have to wait for the actions of our friends from the ministry. What is clear is that we do not reject the construction of a vertical hospital in this district," he said in Wamena, Papua Province, Monday, June 20.

Willy Mambieuw confirmed that the information that the Jayawijaya Government canceled the plan was false.

Die emphasized that the false information circulating had been clarified and coordinated with the Papua Provincial Bappeda, Jayawijaya Bappeda, the Public Works Department, and the Jayawijaya Regional Secretary.

"We have explained that there is no cancellation letter, we remain committed that the hospital will continue to be built in Jayawijaya according to the instructions of the governor in Jayapura," he said.

The Jayawijaya Regency Government has confirmed that it has handed over the land assets for the construction site to the ministry so that only construction is carried out.

"We have submitted the EIA, feasibility study, handover of land assets from the district to the ministry," he said.

The Jayawijaya government is also ready to bear the costs of land release if there is an increase in area from the initial plan.

"The regent has sent a letter to the ministry. In the letter it was stated that if there are additional costs due to land use that we have determined from the start, it is the responsibility of the Jayawijaya Government. So there is no problem," he said.
