Indicator Survey: Satisfaction With Jokowi's Performance Declines Sharply To 59.9 Percent

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute released a survey related to public satisfaction with the performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). As a result, the level of satisfaction with Jokowi has decreased.

Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said the level of public satisfaction with the government's performance in April stood at 59.9 percent. This result decreased sharply when compared to January 2022, amounting to 75.3 percent.

"On April 14-19, if we are satisfied or very satisfied (with President Jokowi's performance) if we total 59.9 percent, those who are less satisfied are 38.6 percent. So more are satisfied", said Burhanuddin in an online survey presentation, Tuesday, April 26.

Burhanuddin explained, that in early January 2022, public satisfaction was at its highest considering that at that time the government had successfully handled the COVID-19 pandemic.

"At that time (January 2022) inflation had not occurred. Cooking oil was still relatively affordable. And don't forget that the people at that time were happy with the government's performance in handling the pandemic case, the Delta variant", he said.

To note, this Political Indicators survey was conducted with face-to-face interviews on April 14-19 2022 with 1,220 respondents who were selected at random or multistage random sampling.

Of these, the margin of error is ± 2.9 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent. Respondents are Indonesian citizens who have the right to vote in the General Election.
