JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno intervened following the fraud case experienced by TikTok artist Kelly Courtney and her husband.
Both admitted that they lost IDR 12 million in their three-day and a two-night trip for six packages in Labuan Bajo.
Password, the perpetrator, in this case, is not a travel agent but an employee who wants to make personal profits.
"The problem is clear, the money has been returned. The couple is enjoying their vacation in Labuan Bajo, even inviting Indonesians to travel to Labuan Bajo, which is rich in natural attractions," said Sandiaga Uno on the official Instagram page @sandiuno, Jakarta, Friday, February 18.
Sandi said he immediately moved by asking the Implementing Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) to follow up on the alleged case of cheating the couple.
"We immediately moved quickly to contact the victim. After we checked, it turned out to be not the travel agent," said Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno.
