Air Cable In The Central Jakarta KSD Area Again Cut Off By The Highways Sub-Department

Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-Department has brought order and cut off the utility network air cable on Jalan Petojo Enclek XIV, South Petojo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

Head of the Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept., Muhammad Soleh, said that controlling the air cable for the utility network is one of the Regional Strategic Activities (KSD) in 2024 related to the arrangement of sidewalks and their completeness.

"We are executing Jalan Petojo Enclek XIV, next to the Central Jakarta Mayor's office. There are eight utility cables that we cut with a length of 1.4 kilometers and carried out in stages," he said when confirmed, Thursday, December 19.

The activity of cutting the aerial cable was continued on Jalan Tanah Abang I, to be precise in front of the Central Jakarta Mayor's office.

Soleh said that the control of air cables or utility networks is in collaboration with the Telecommunication Network Operators Association (Apjatel).

Later, the network cable owners relocated the cables to the ground. This process has been carried out by the Central Jakarta Highways Sub-Department since the beginning of the year.

"We have instructed the owner of the utility network to relocate the cable to the ground so that when the execution of the termination there will be no more impact on the customers," he said.

According to Soleh, ideally on arterial roads, they must be clean of air cables because they are not good in terms of beauty and security.

"Hopefully we want our city to be neat, comfortable. Apart from the neat sidewalk infrastructure, we also want the utility cable to be neat. If possible, it will not be in the air anymore," he said.
