PBNU Encourages Religious Leaders To Become Conflict Solutions In Society
JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf hopes that the meeting of the R20 International Summit of Religious Authoritys (ISORA) can produce agreements followed by concrete actions to resolve conflicts that are currently taking place in the world, including the Palestinian conflict with Israel. "Hopefully later this meeting will truly reach an agreement and real action that must be taken with the world religious community," he said at the opening of the R20 ISORA in Jakarta, Monday, November 27. R20 ISORA presents religious leaders from religious countries member of the Republic 20 or R20 to exchange ideas to find solutions to the conflict that is currently happening in the world. Yahya Cholil Staquf, who is usually called Gus Yahya, encourages world religious leaders to present religion as a solution to the problem. "The joint study to present religion is relevant in the midst of today's human life, results in answers to existing problems," he said.

He said that the R20 ISORA would discuss fundamental issues in the conflict that are still ongoing in the Middle East, namely the weak international order. R20 ISORA was officially opened by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Monday. Secretary General of the World Muslim League Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al Issa will deliver a key speech at the event.
