Already Collected Rp1 Billion, The Mayor Of Makassar Wants Palestinian Donations To Reach Rp2 Billion
JAKARTA - Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto said that the collection of donations for Palestine sourced from the community through the People's Welfare Sector (Kesra) of the City Government and the Makassar National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) had reached Rp1 billion.
"So far, the collection of donations from the Makassar Baznas has reached almost Rp. 400 million and from the Kesra sector it has been more than Rp. 900 million. I think if it is Rp. 2 billion we can distribute it to Palestine," said Ramdhan, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, November 26.
The man who is familiarly called Danny Pomanto stated that he contributed Rp. 100 million so that if the accumulated figure for the Welfare sector could reach Rp. 1 billion.
"I urge all elements of society to participate so that our donation figure can be even Rp. 2 billion and we will immediately give it to the ambassador," said the Mayor for these two periods and hoped that donations would continue to grow.
