Hashtags Of Dynasty Political Issues On Social Media In Netray Monitoring
JAKARTA Shadows of dynastic politics and nepotism are unlikely to be lost from the future presidential and vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the near future.
President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) issue strengthened after Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman granted the presidential and vice presidential candidate age lawsuit which previously prevented Gibran from advancing in the 2024 presidential election contestation.
Previously, Kaesang Pangarep had already made a surprise by being appointed as Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). The series of political events occurred in the midst of preparations for the 2024 democratic party. So, it is not surprising that the political issue of the Jokowi dynasty is increasingly being discussed.
Given the high public interest in dynastic political issues, Netray monitored this topic during the registration period for Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates which opened from October 19, 2023 to October 25, 2023. The monitoring was carried out on platform X (formerly Twitter) because this issue was quite massively discussed on social media.
Based on observations, 11 thousand uploads were found to produce 6.1 million impressions, both in the form of LIKE, Reply, and retweets. This topic was also discussed by 5.2 thousand more accounts that have a potential reach of up to 104.5 million accounts.
The majority of netizens commented negatively on the dynastic political issue. It was evident from 63 percent of netizens who gave negative sentiment, while those who were neutral were 20.1 percent and positive sentiment was only 16.3 percent.
For one day, this topic appeared at least in 372 uploads and at most 2,951 uploads. Talks about dynastic politics have increased rapidly in one day since October 21. This was triggered by the announcement of Golkar carrying Gibran as Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate at Rapimnas.
A day later, the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) declared Gibran as the vice presidential candidate, accompanying Prabowo. The two then signed up with the General Elections Commission (KPU) on October 25, 2023.
Based on the intensity of the upload, the most dynastic political issues contain disappointment with Jokowi who is considered to have betrayed PDIP. In fact, most media agreed to report the existence of nepotism and efforts to build a political dynasty that could undermine the current democratic process.
In the midst of the public's disappointment with Jokowi and his family, this issue was exploited by loyalist Ganjar Pranowo, who of course became part of a party loyalist bearing the white-nosed bull logo.
The issue of dynastic politics is also observed through traces of a hashtag played by at least four groups. The four participating groups have different directions.
The first is the loyalist group Ganjar and PDIP. Along with their firmness against dynastic politics, this group also said that the Ganjar-Mahfud pair could save the nation from dynastic politics.
The hashtags #TegakLurusKonstitution, #Orde BaruReborn, #GanjarMahfudTanaDrama, #GanjarMahfud, and #PrabowoGibranKalah and #KecewaJokowi were widely played by this group as a form of rejection of dynastic politics.
Other groups that also take advantage of dynastic political issues are loyalists of Anies and PKS. The dynastic political issues accused of being fried by the Jokowi family of this group, in particular, regarding Gibran's support as Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate.
The group says dynastic politics in today's era will not sell well, so they believe people who reject dynastic politics will vote on the Anies-Muhaimin duo.
The hashtags played are #PollingCapresCawapres, #PrabowoProPolitic Dinasti, #RakyatMuakPolitikDinasti, #2024AniesPresidenRakyat, and #AMINKANIndonesia.
The Prabowo-Gibran group does not remain silent after always getting a negative image in the media. Among the negative narratives about official politics that are dominantly played by two other groups, there is also a hashtag with a positive narrative. And this is certainly raised by the Prabowo-Gibran support group.
The hashtags with positive narratives that have emerged include #MenataMasaDepan, #BersamaPrabowo, and #Jokowinomics. While the narrative that was built was that dynastic politics was not new. According to this group, all parties including PDIP also contain dynastic politics. Especially if the goal is to advance Indonesia, then the political dynasty should not be a problem.
Finally, massive news media groups raised this issue and also pinned hashtags such as #newsupdate, #mediainternational, #tembodunia, #gibran, #prabowo, and #politikdinasti.
Jokowi's dynastic politics has indeed drawn controversy. Although many are against it, not a few also feel this is normal. That's because dynastic politics is also happening abroad, including the United States.
The founder of the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute, Hendri Satrio, explained that the reason for the dynastic politics in the style of Jokowi was not accepted in Indonesia. According to him, Jokowi's children plunged into political arenas only with the capital of relating their father's power as president.
"If you want to compare with Puan Maharani (Megawati Soekarnoputri's son) is clearly very different. Puan started her career as an ordinary member, then a member of the DPR, the head of the faction, then she became a minister and later became the Chair of the DPR. So indeed there are stages that are being passed," Hendri told VOI.

"The same thing with Pak SBY's family, AHY was forged first. And most importantly AHY went to the Pilkada event when his father no longer served as president," Hendri added.
"While the Jokowi dynasty all utilizes power relations, its father becomes president, its son advances to become Mayor of Solo, Mayor of Medan, Chairman of PSI and now wants to become vice president," said Hendri again.
