After The Constitutional Court's Decision, Gibran Rakabuming Still 'Sclouding' Accompanied Prabowo

JAKARTA - Gibran Rakabuming Raka is confirmed to continue to accompany Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) contestation. This is because the decision of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) has no impact on the terms of age limit as Presidential Candidates (Capres) and Vice Presidential Candidates (Cawapres).

"We inform the people of Indonesia, there is no doubt in the slightest that this couple sailed well," said Commander of the Echo (Hunkum and Advocacy) of the Prabowo National Campaign Team (TKN) Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Hinca Panjaitan, Tuesday, November 7.

According to him, the Constitutional Court's decision has no impact on the Constitutional Court's decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 which allows regional heads not yet 40 years old to run as presidential and vice presidential candidates.

So, according to the rules, Gibran Rakabuming Raka violated nothing to continue to accompany Prabowo Subianto.

"The Constitutional Court's decision has no impact on the Constitutional Court's decision Number 90 concerning the age limit and the requirements for reading the vice president," he said.

"The Prabowo Subianto-Gibran pair fully registered with the KPU and followed the process so that the KPU then made the decision to become a legitimate partner," continued Hinca.

In addition, Hinca also mentioned the new lawsuit of 141/PUU-XXI/2023 which is still related to the requirements for the age of the presidential and vice presidential candidates. The lawsuit tested Article 169 letter q of Law 7/2017 which the Constitutional Court has added its norms through case decision No. 90/PUU-XXI/2023.

According to him, if it has been decided, the case will take effect in 2029. This means that it will not interfere with Gibran's path to run as Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate.

"In connection with case number 141 registered a few days ago at the Constitutional Court, whatever the results will not affect Prabowo-Gibran's nomination process. Because this case is related to other things that will apply to 2029, there is no longer any doubt in the community about the candidate pair," said Hinca.
