DKI Provincial Government Affirms Resulting Emission Test Raids Even Without A Ticket
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Task Force (Task Force) for Air Pollution Control and Handling Ani Ruspitawati emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government and Polda Metro Jaya will continue to carry out emission test raids even though the imposition of a ticket on vehicles that do not pass the emission test is stopped.
Ani said that emission test raids on motorized vehicle drivers at a number of points needed to be held to make the public aware of the importance of emission testing on their vehicles.
"We are still stopping the ticketing temporarily because this is the authority of the police, yesterday it was stopped by the police, so we followed it," said Ani at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, November 3.
In the implementation of the raid, motorists who are dismissed will also still be checked for exhaust emissions at the location on their vehicles. If they do not pass the emission test, they will be asked to carry out vehicle maintenance.
"Meanwhile, in the process, the concept is still under socialization, from us still providing education to the public to conduct emission tests," said Ani.
In the future, the DKI Provincial Government will formulate what sanctions will be imposed on vehicle users who do not pass the emission test to replace fines.
"Furthermore, what the next form of sanctions will be, we will re-coordinate," he said.
Thursday, November 2, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya decided to abolish fines for violators of the emission test. The reason is that many people complain about their ignorance of prosecution. So, currently only socialization is enforced.
"There are many people who complain. That's why starting today we are still conducting socialization without any fines," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters.
Although no fines were carried out, vehicle emission test raids were still carried out on the streets. Later, vehicles that do not pass the emission test will be advised to repair vehicles.

"Ditlantas will not make a ticket, but will still make an appeal. Because indeed we see the current situation of the community's condition, and many people whose terms still need socialization again," he said.
On the other hand, Latif said that based on the results of the evaluation of the implementation of the emission test ticket, there are still many people who do not understand the importance of emission testing.
The second time the emission test ticket has occurred. Initially, the emission test ticket had been running since September 1, 2023. However, the implementation was only carried out in the first week and the Metro Police decided to stop it.
At that time, the emission test ticket was temporarily suspended to provide opportunities for the public to undergo emission tests in order to control air pollution in Jakarta.
