Construction Of The Velodrome-Manggarai LRT, Jakpro Make Sure There Are No Road Closures
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Iwan Takwin emphasized that there was no road closure during the construction of the 1B phase of the Jakarta LRT for the Velodrome-Manggarai route.
Iwan said that Jakpro as the BUMD assigned to build the Jakarta LRT has also asked development implementing contractors not to close roads so as not to interfere with community activities.
"No (blocking the road), only narrowing the route. That's why we challenge the contractor's working method of how they can outsmart it," Iwan told reporters, quoted on Tuesday, October 31.
Iwan said that the DKI Provincial Government is trying to accelerate the continuation of the Jakarta LRT work. This is an evaluation of the construction of the Jakarta Phase 1 LRT with the Kelapa Gading-Velodrome route.
"We have to challenge the contractor's work method. Moreover, there are buses here, other public transportation. So, don't take too long," he said.
Construction of the 1B phase of the Jakarta LRT began on Monday, October 30. The Jakarta LRT phase has a 4.6-kilometer line span which has 5 stations, namely Rawamangun Youth Station, BPKP Scout Station, Matraman Station Pramuka Station, and Manggarai Station.
The construction of the Jakarta Phase 1B LRT will all be completed for three years until 2026. By 2024, it is targeted that the LRT will be operational until the Scout Station.
Construction costs IDR 5.5 trillion, which includes construction costs of IDR 4.6 trillion. The source of funding comes from the DKI Regional Budget in a multi-year manner.
"There are various things, construction costs, consultants, and others, so the total is IDR 5.5 trillion," said Iwan.
