Children In Gaza Suffer From Difficulty In Getting Food And Clean Water

JAKARTA - The bombing in Gaza which has been going on for almost three weeks has caused terrible suffering for children, especially to meet their daily needs such as food and water.

When speaking to Anadolu, Abdul Latif Baker, 10, revealed his daily struggle to survive.

He has to struggle to eat, and is forced to bake his own bread over a fire outside because the Israeli occupation has destroyed their bakeries and homes.

"We can barely get water, and this water is usually not drinkable," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 26.

“We went out looking for cardboard and firewood to start a fire and make bread,” said 12-year-old Majd Al-Hessi.

Majd hopes that the war will end soon.

“I don't want to lose my family or friends.”

Meanwhile, Mohammad Baker, 16, revealed that he wants to become a doctor or engineer one day. He also said he really wanted to feel freedom and be able to see his homeland become independent.

Nearly 7,200 people have died in the Israel-Hamas war, including at least 5,791 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis.

As many as 2.3 million Gaza residents have started to run out of food, water, medicine and fuel, while the humanitarian aid convoys that are allowed to enter Gaza are still far from sufficient.
