Police Make Sure The AIS Forum Summit Runs Safely

Assistant Chief of Police for Operations (Asops) Inspector General Verdianto Iskandar Bitticaca ensures that the security of the Island and Islands State Forum Summit or Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) forum 2023 in Bali 10-11 October runs smoothly and safely.

"Until the third day, the operation of security and order conditions is still safe and good. All security activities and participants of the summit have been in an orderly and safe manner, starting from the arrival of delegates from the airport to the hotel and venue," said Verdianto in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.

In securing the AIS Forum 2023 Summit, the National Police held Operations codenamed Tribrata Agung 2023. This operational planning had been carried out for two months, then training, deploying troops to implementing, supervising and controlling. Regarding security, said the one-star police general, divided into four rings. Ring 1 which is in the venue for securing the head of state or VVIP is the task of Paspampres and the TNI. However, for VIP security or at the ministerial level, it will be the duty of the Police.

Untukring 2ada jalur walrolakir (pengawalian, rute, patrol, dan parkir). Personal Polri akan mengamankan sepanjang jalur yang akan lewat lewat tamu VVIP dan VIP dari bandara ke penginapan maupun venue.

"In the ring 3 and 4 are the main areas, namely Nusa Dua, Kuta, Sanur and for the buffer zone at the port. This is the focus of the Police to secure it," said Verdianto who is also the Karendalops Operation Tribrata Agung 2023.

Verdianto said that in Operation Tribrata Agung, the National Police had prepared a Military Center which could monitor all movements of state guests. Starting from arrivals at airports, inns, venues and tourist attractions that may be visited by delegates.

"The Military Center also monitors our personnel who carry out escorts both in two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. We can see that live," he said.

He explained that the security pattern of the AIS Forum 2023 Summit is the same as the implementation of the G-20 Summit and the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and Jakarta. The security challenge is the unplanned activities of state guests.

"Like yesterday, state guests went to tourist attractions. Sometimes they have their own challenges, but we already have anticipation during the planning of operations how state guests will suddenly visit tourist attractions," he said.

To anticipate unscheduled security, he said, the National Police informed the command center that there was a visit. Then the personnel in the object can be mobilized to carry out security.

"So our personnel at the object are ready with communication tools. We control it so that our personnel are ready to secure state guests," he said.

Verdianto added that securing the AIS Forum 2023 Summit involves pecalang and local Balinese residents. He has appealed to be able to welcome state guests well.

"With this activity, the Balinese people will receive a positive impact so that the wheels of the economy turn good," he said.
