Megawati And Anwar Ibrahim Had Discussed IKN Nusantara
JAKARTA - The Nusantara National Capital (IKN) development project in Kalimantan is one of the topics of discussion between the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia who is also the Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim when they met in the First Series, Putrajaya.
Megawati, in a statement received, said that the discussion about moving the country's capital arose considering that Malaysia had experienced it first, namely the transfer from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya.
"It was Malaysia first, (to) Putrajaya, when the transfer was carried out from Kuala Lumpur," Megawati said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 3.
He said that during the meeting, the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, who was also part of the group, asked PM Anwar how the process of moving the state capital to Putrajaya was. How long will it take to the stages and difficulties faced.
Anwar, according to Megawati, gave an "insight" regarding the relocation of the nation's capital city. Then predict that moving the nation's capital from Jakarta to the archipelago will be more complex.
"He also said that if you look at the existing (conditions) of IKN, it seems that in that time stage it could be a little longer than the time of Putrajaya," said Megawati.
Megawati and Puan Maharani received a warm welcome when they met Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Wan Azizah Wan Ismail at the official residence of the Malaysian Prime Minister at the Perdana Series Complex, Putrajaya.

The meeting took place around 13.00 local time and was also attended by Megawati's first son, M Rizki Pratama and the husband of Puan Maharani,Hapsoro Sukmonohadi.
Megawati Soekarnoputri's presence in Malaysia for two days, among others, was to receive an honoris causa doctorate in social science from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahnman (UTAR) in Selangor on Monday (2/10).
Before meeting Anwar, Megawati met with former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, and chatted casually about various things, such as rain and IKN development.
