Unofficial Debut, Jungmin Leaves NCT NEW TEAM Project
JAKARTA - SM Entertainment announced the news of Jungmin's release, one of the members who is projected to debut in NCT's new unit. They revealed that health conditions were the main reason the decision was made.
"Hello, this is SM Entertainment. We thank the fans who are waiting for their debut NCT NEW TEAM (tentative name) and we would like to announce Jungmin who was elected as a pre-debut member," said SM Entertainment today, Monday, October 2.
NCT NEW TEAM is planned to greet fans through a pre-debut tour starting this week. However, in the midst of that preparation, Jungmin had to leave the group.
"For reasons of understanding, Jungmin recently stopped training and other activities and focused on treatment," explained the agency.
"As promotional activities begin soon, we continue to discuss Jungmin's activities with his family and medical staff," they said again.

Deep considerations and discussions made Jungmin focus on his health. He resigned from NCT's new team and returned to being a trainee while doing treatment.
"We feel guilty for causing concern with sudden news for fans who support Jungmin's debut, and we will support Jungmin so that he can focus on recovering and returning to new activities in good condition," said SM Entertainment.
"As a result, NCT NEW TEAM will continue its activities with six members from now on. They are working hard to prepare it so please provide support," he said.
SM Entertainment held the NCT UNIVERSE: LASTART event, a competition to select members who will debut in NCT's newest unit and debut in Japan.
The seven members selected were Sion, Yushi, Riku, Sakuya, Daeyoung, Jungmin, and Ryo. They have performed at the NCT NATION concert in Japan along with 20 other NCT members. Jungmin himself is already absent from the NCT concert.
