CSR Bank BTN Wins International Award
JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has again won an international award titled "Best Bank for CSR in Indonesia" from Asia Money. The award is an appreciation for Bank BTN's actions to support the fulfillment of home needs for families or Low-Income Communities (MBR) for a more prosperous life.
Deputy President Director of Bank BTN Oni Febriarto Rahardjo said the company continues to transform so that it can grow sustainably. One of them, continued Oni, is through a slick collaboration between business and the Social and Environmental Responsibility program (TJSL/Corporate Social Responsibility), which focuses on supporting families in Indonesia to own a home and live a decent life.
"This award is an appreciation as well as a sign that we have carried out an ontrack TJSL program with the BTN Bank mission, which meets the needs of houses in Indonesia," Oni said after receiving the Best Bank for CSR in Indonesia award in Singapore, Tuesday, September 26.
The title of Best Bank for CSR in Indonesia is pinned to Bank BTN for the company's actions in providing housing and support for families or MBR as well as informal workers.
Meanwhile, data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) dissecting the number of home needs (backlog) in Indonesia is dominated by two groups. The first group that reached 2.2 million families, namely the community with the lowest income or below Rp. 3 million. Then, the second group is low-income and informal people with a salary ranging from Rp. 3 million to Rp. 8.5 million as many as 7.3 million families.
Oni added that the business collaboration and TJSL BTN program to embrace these families is by providing Micro BTN Home Ownership Credit (KPR) programs for community groups with the lowest income. Bank BTN is also the only bank that provides mortgage Rent to Own for low-income people and informal workers.
Bank BTN also distributed assistance for mothers and families with the lowest income for stunting prevention ranging from Pekanbaru to East Nusa Tenggara. The assistance also involves Posyandu cadres to prevent stunting.
Bank BTN also provides scholarships for outstanding children from underprivileged families. The company's TJSL program also carries tree planting and builds green open spaces in financed subsidized housing areas.

The issuer codenamed BBTN shares is also the only bank that organizes Mini MBA in Properti, a collaboration-based property literacy program with various well-known universities in Indonesia. The program was held to encourage new entrepreneurs in the housing sector.
"We continue to strive to become a company that grows sustainably and has a positive impact on social and environmental," said Oni.
Meanwhile, until the end of 2022, 53.5 percent of Bank BTN's total loans were distributed for sustainable business activities. Bank BTN also noted that by the end of 2022, the company's total sustainable financing had reached IDR 147 trillion.
