West Java Acting Governor: Cheap Food Operations Reduce The Increase In Rice Prices
Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, said various efforts were made by local governments to reduce the number of rice prices in West Java, including holding cheap food in a number of cities/districts including in Cianjur.
"The cheap food program which was held in Cianjur or the 61st point in West Java, is an effort to reduce the increase in food demand prices, especially rice, has not soared," he said after monitoring the cheap food activities held at the Cianjur Regency Hall.
His party ensures that this cheap food title activity can stabilize food prices, especially rice in West Java, remains under control even though there is an increase but does not increase, while rice stocks in West Java are ensured to be safe and can meet the needs of residents by the end of the year.
At the cheap food title in Cianjur, he said, Bulog Cianjur provided 1.5 tons of rice which in a few hours sold out including eggs and other cheap food products produced by farmers in a number of sub-districts in Cianjur.
"Until the end of the year, we will hold cheap food activities at 54 other district/city points in West Java, as an effort to stabilize food prices in the market, especially in West Java," he said.
To ensure the availability of government reserve rice stocks in Cianjur, his party will increase the number in the next few weeks, so that rice stocks throughout West Java are completely safe.

"We will also increase the government's reserve food stock in the Bulog Cianjur warehouse, the amount of which is still adjusted to other regencies/cities in West Java," he said.
The Regent of Cianjur, Herman Suherman, who accompanied the Acting Governor of West Java, said that the cheap food activities initiated by the Cianjur Regency Government together with the West Java Provincial Government received a high response from the community.
"It is proven that from 1.5 tons of rice and hundreds of kilograms of eggs and other food products sold out in a matter of hours, so that similar activities will be held in a number of sub-districts to stabilize the price of fire, especially rice," he said.
