The Clashes Of Johar Baru Residents Broke Again, Residents Attack Each Other Using Sharp Weapons In Front Of The BNKP Church

JAKARTA - A number of youth groups have again held a brawl on Jalan Kramat Jaya Baru, RT 13/01, Johar Baru Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta. The brawl took place in front of the Banua Niha Keriso Protestant church (BNKP).

One of the residents who claimed to be named Riski Silitonga (32) said the incident between teenagers occurred twice. On Tuesday 19 September 2023 the brawl occurred at 17.00 WIB and 02.00 WIB in the morning.

"I saw that a brawl broke out, the action of attacking each other using sharp weapons and firecrackers occurred on Jalan Kramat Jaya Baru," said the man who is familiarly called Silitonga to reporters, Wednesday, September 20.

He also heard several explosions, both from firecrackers and tear gas shots by the police in dispersing the brawl. The brawl did not last long, only about 10 minutes.

"I don't know which resident is fighting, whether it's outsiders or not. I happen to be an immigrant," he said.

"Yesterday when I was resting, I wanted to go out again and we heard a brawl in the afternoon," he said.

Clara said that the brawl was not only in her area but almost in all areas of Johar Baru District. She suspects that this brawl occurred ahead of the Presidential Election (Pilpres) and the Governorial Election (Pilgub).

"Maybe this happened because before the presidential and gubernatorial elections. Here has just been a brawl," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Johar Baru area was again marked by a brawl by two groups of teenagers. This time, a brawl occurred on Jalan Tanah Tinggi 12, Tanah Tinggi Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta on Tuesday morning, September 19.

The Head of the Johar Baru Police, Kompol Ubaidillah, confirmed that there was a brawl in the Tanah Tinggi area. However, the brawl did not take long after members of the Johar Baru Police came to the scene.

"Yes, there was, a kind of brawl but there were no victims. After the members of the Johar Baru Police came the brawl broke up. No one was arrested," said the police chief when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, September 19.
