Defendant Of Project Fraud In South Lampung Sentenced To 18 Months In Prison
The defendant in the fraud case with the mode of buying and selling projects at the South Lampung Regency Government (Pemkab) was sentenced to one year and six months or 18 months in prison.
"Sentenced the defendant Akbar Bintang to imprisonment for one year and six months," said Chief Justice Agus Windana while reading the verdict in the Tanjungjkarang District Court courtroom, Bandar Lampung, reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 15.
In the verdict, the judge assessed that the defendant had been legally and convincingly proven to have committed a criminal act of fraud as stated in Article 378 of the Criminal Code.
According to him, the aggravating thing is that the defendant's act was found guilty because it had resulted in losses for other people worth Rp. 2.6 billion.
"The consideration of mitigating the defendant was polite during the trial process," he said.
Previously, Public Prosecutor (JPU) Elis Mustika demanded a sentence against the defendant for two years in prison.

The defendant served a sentence for project fraud and position in South Lampung Regency. The fraud was committed against a victim named Yusar Riyaman Saleh.
In this case, the defendant is suspected of having committed an act that violates Article 378 or Article 372 of the Criminal Code which promises the granting of positions and a number of projects in South Lampung.
The defendant Akbar committed his actions from 2018 to 2019. The defendant claimed to be someone close to the Regent of South Lampung, Nanang Ermanto, so that the victim was convinced but deceived by the lure, resulting in a loss of more than Rp. 2 billion.
