Police Deploy 200 Personnel To Guard The 2023 Simultaneous Village Head Election In Tanah Datar

SUMBAR - The Tanah Datar Resort Police (Polres) in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) deployed 200 personnel to secure the implementation of the 2023 Simultaneous Village Head or Wali Nagari Election.

Tanah Datar Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Derry Indra SIK said the 2023 Simultaneous Village Head Election, which is planned to be held on September 26.

"We from the Resort Police have prepared 200 personnel to secure the election, starting from the campaign period to the election at each polling station (TPS)," he said in Batusangkar, West Sumatra, Wednesday, September 6, which was confiscated by Antara.

For now, the Police Chief continued, his party continues to coordinate with the local government regarding the 2023 Simultaneous 2023 Nagari Wali Elections (Pilwana) in Tanah Datar Regency.

His party has also carried out a mapping related to potential vulnerabilities that will occur. The results of the monitoring, the situation of 54 villages that will participate in the simultaneous elections is still monitored to be safe and conducive.

"We have also mapped the potential for vulnerabilities, we are still monitoring because there is a potential for vulnerability, both insecurity to the community and during the election. Meanwhile, the regional situation is still conducive," he said.

Meanwhile, Tanah Datar Regent Eka Putra invited the public to prioritize the principle of badunsanak (brothers) in the democratic process.

"Do not let the supporters of each wali nagari misunderstand or cause the neighbors not to greet each other," he said.

Regarding the potential for vulnerability in the nagari that organizes the pilwana, the regent said everything had been mapped and until now the conditions were still safe and peaceful.

"Recently, we have been traveling to the nagari and always gave an appeal to create badunsanak pilwana. We also appeal to the Nagari Wali Election Committee (PPWN) to carry out positive activities by involving all candidate wali nagari without setting aside any of them," he said.
