KPU Calls The Life History List Of Presidential Candidates, Vice Presidential Candidates And Candidates Can Be Published If Allowed

JAKARTA - The General Elections Commission (KPU) received a proposal related to the curriculum list of prospective presidential candidates (candidates), vice presidential candidates (cawapres) to legislative candidates to be published. The proposal appeared during a public trial on Monday. KPU commissioner RI, Idham Holik said that the proposal was an important input for the KPU. Moreover, the KPU is committed to fulfilling aspects of openness to the public. "There are participants who propose that the list of life history candidates for president and vice president, after the registration period be immediately published and this is an important input for us," said Idham Holik in his statement, Monday, September 4. Therefore, the proposal will be reviewed further. "What is clear is that the KPU is committed to fulfilling public information disclosure in accordance with regulations or Law number 14 of 2008," he added. On the same occasion, Idham also explained the openness of the life history list of legislative candidates or legislative candidates. This list can be published if it has obtained permission from the person concerned. "All of the legislative history later after we have determined and at the time we announce it. We will announce it as long as the candidates in the DCT (dependent candidate list) are concerned and allow a life record list to be announced," said Idham.

He added that this was based on the applicable provisions, so permission was needed. "Because based on Article 17 letter H, the curriculum list is one of the excluded information. So we have to get permission from the owner of the life history list," he explained.
