Baby Kristami, 4th Runner Up of Miss Universe Indonesia Feels Not Harassed During Body Checking

JAKARTA - Baby Kristami Coriesza Nauli, the 4th runner up of Miss Universe Indonesia (MUID) 2023 from Jakarta, also spoke out about the polemic of sexual harassment experienced by several finalists during the body checking process.

Baby Kristami sympathized with the finalists who felt they had been abused. However, she considered that not all finalists experienced the same experience.

"The body checking was carried out for all 30 finalists," said Baby Kristami in Tendean, South Jakarta, Monday, August 14.

Reflecting on her personal experience during body checking, Baby Kristami admitted that she was not photographed as stated by several other finalists. He also felt no pressure during body checking.

“But for me personally, I don't take pictures, because there are no tattoos and no wounds. There were no threats either, I didn't feel threatened at all," she said.

Baby Kristami also asked that all parties respect the ongoing legal process, where a finalist has reported Poppy Capella's PT Capella Swastika Karya for alleged sexual harassment.

"And for sure we will see the ongoing legal process. For my friends who feel harassed, we have to respect their feelings and provide a safe space," said Baby Kristami.

Previously, Poppy Capella stated that reports against her company at Polda Metro Jaya were not necessarily proven true. He felt that what had been said by those who had been at odds with him meant to kick him and the company as MUID license holders.

Shortly after Poppy Capella's statement uploaded on social media, the Miss Universe Organization decided to work with Poppy Capella and PT Capella Swastika Karya. The National Director and license holders are considered unable to comply with the guidelines and code of ethics that have been determined.

Furthermore, the Miss Universe Organization felt that Poppy Capella and her company could not provide a sense of security for women who were finalists for MUID 2023.

As a result of the termination of this collaboration, Poppy Capella and her company will not be included in future MUID events, including Miss Universe Malaysia 2023.
