President Jokowi Conducts 3 Business Meetings With Chinese Entrepreneurs

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo held three business meetings with Chinese businessmen during a working visit on the second day in Chengdu, China.

Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi explained that the first meeting was a background business with RRT and INACHAM businessmen engaged in green energy, downstream nickel, automotive, health and palm oil imports.

The second is a joint call company in the field of petrochemicals and hydrochemicals in Kaltara, while the third is a one-on-one meeting with one of the Chinese companies engaged in the glassfall. "From all business meetings, it appears that commitment both from the government and from the Chinese private sector to continue to increase investment in Indonesia," explained Foreign Minister Retno as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 28.

The Foreign Minister conveyed that future investment priorities include downstream industries for new and renewable energy, health, research for food security and also IKN development.

"And at all meetings, Mr. President always emphasized the importance of using environmentally friendly local workers and bringing added value to Indonesia," he explained.

The Foreign Minister said that from the three business meetings, there were also commitments to expanding investment and new investment plans, which were very large.

The value of tens of billions of US dollars and one of them is quite large, which is around 11.5 billion US dollars. Once again, 11.5 billion US dollars is one of several investment commitments," he said.

Meanwhile, previously, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin was also reported to have held a business meeting that resulted in investment commitments in the health sector worth US $ 1.5 billion.
