Not Yet Received Official Notification, West Java Provincial Government Is Ready to Respond to Panji Gumilang's Lawsuit against Ridwan Kamil
BANDUNG - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Java (West Java) stated that they had not received an official notification from the Bandung District Court regarding the lawsuit filed by the Leader of the Al-Zaytun Panji Gumilang Islamic Boarding School to West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil as regional head.
The Head of the Legal and Human Rights Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of the West Java Province Teppy Wawan Dharmawan said, because there had been no official notification, his party still did not know the contents and substance of the lawsuit.
At the Bandung Special Class I A District Court, the lawsuit was addressed to the Governor of West Java as the defendant with the title lawsuit for unlawful acts and was registered with civil case Number 325/Pdt.G/2023/PN.Bdg.
"However, we have not yet received an official notification regarding the lawsuit, so we do not know for certain regarding the content and substance of the lawsuit filed by Panji Gumilang," said Teppy as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 15.
Even so, the West Java Provincial Government is ready to face the lawsuit. This is because, said Teppy, the regional government's efforts to resolve the Al-Zaytun problem are in accordance with their functions and authorities, especially in maintaining conduciveness.
"That a series of actions carried out by the governor is a legal obligation that must be carried out in an effort to maintain peace, order, and conduciveness, according to his authority and responsibility," he said.
Teppy also stated that the West Java Provincial Government was taking action in accordance with laws and regulations while at the same time applying the tabayun principle.
"The West Java Provincial Government is really solving this problem in accordance with laws and regulations. Then, we are also persistent in clarifying, inviting, and receiving in a good manner to obtain information and explanations," he said.
The same thing was said by the Head of the Political Unity and National Unity Agency of West Java Province, Iip Hidayat. According to him, the West Java Provincial Government itself applies the tabayun principle in resolving the Al-Zaytun polemic.
The existence of an investigation team consisting of many parties, starting from the Indonesian Ulema Council, the Ministry of Religion, and Islamic organizations, to the TNI/Polri, is a form of tabayun.
The main task of the investigation team, according to Iip, is to summarize the problems and confirm them. That way, the central government, and the West Java Provincial Government can make appropriate decisions and policies according to their respective authorities.
"There is unrest in the community regarding Al-Zaytun. There are also demonstrations. The governor as the head of the region has the authority to maintain peace and order. So, the governor instructed the West Java Kesbangpol to investigate the situation and form an investigation team to be comprehensive in solving it," said Iip.
"Mr. Governor wants material from the investigation team, what is the main problem that makes this community unrest? So, the investigation team took inventory of the problems," he said.
Iip emphasized that the investigation team worked comprehensively with accurate data while prioritizing the precautionary principle. The goal is to find a fair solution.
In addition, the results of the investigation team's work have also been submitted by the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD.
