After Revitalization, Terminal 2 Of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Can Accommodate 21 Million Passengers
JAKARTA - Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten is currently being revitalized or reshuffled.
Revitalization is carried out to increase the capacity and productivity of passenger and aircraft movements at the airport.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said a number of projects carried out at Soetta Airport (Soetta) cover the land and air side.
Budi said, on the land side, the revitalization was carried out by AP II together with contractors PT PP at Terminal 1B and 1C for domestic flights, and Terminal 2F which was carried out by AP II and Adhi Karya for international flights.
Meanwhile, on the air side, AP II carried out runway work and installation of software or systems by Airnav Indonesia to increase the productivity of aircraft movement that took off or landed (take off or landing).
Terminal revitalization is carried out as an effort to increase passenger capacity from 65 million per year to 110 million per year. Terminal 2F which will be increased to 70,000 square meters," he said, written on Sunday, July 23.
Budi explained that the revitalization was carried out to accommodate demand for flights to and from Jakarta via Soetta Airport which was increasing.
"Approximately six months can all be completed so that it can meet the increasing demand. Soetta Airport will be the showcase for Indonesia's country in the eyes of the world," he said.
Terminal 2 Soetta Can Accommodate 21 Million Passengers
Overall, said Budi, the revitalization of Terminal 2 of Soetta Airport will increase the capacity of passenger movement services from previously only 9 million passengers per year to 21 million passengers per year.
Initially Terminal 2 had an area of 173,608 m2 and postvitalized to 234,50m2 at Terminals 2D, 2E, and 2F.
"Especially at Terminal 2F which serves international flights, it is hoped that it can serve up to 7 million passengers who were originally only able to accommodate 3 million passengers," he explained.
The revitalization includes terminal interior design, replacement of mechanical equipment and networks, electricity, plumbing or MEP for connecting between-boarding lounges and umrah lounges, the implementation of IBMS.
"The total area of Terminal 2F after the revitalization is 74,964 m2 which was originally only 36,402m2," he said.

Meanwhile, the 1C terminal revitalization was carried out on the ground floor covering an area of 46,100 m2 and the 1st floor covering an area of 38,200 m2.
The revitalization of Terminal 1 C includes passenger departure and arrival service areas, commercial areas, offices, connecting boarding lounges, passenger baggage, and MEP work.
During his review at Soetta Airport, Budi checked the aircraft maintenance facility at Garuda Maintenance Facilities (GMF AeroAsia).
He said foreign airlines' trust in aircraft maintenance in Indonesia was increasing, as indicated by the waiting list list requesting aircraft maintenance from both national and foreign airlines.
