Guaranteeing Forest And Land Fires Not Entering Settlement, South Kalimantan BPBD Builds 5 Command Posts Around Syamsudin Noor Airport
SOUTH KALIMANTAN - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Kalimantan (Kalsel) has alerted 5 posts to prevent forest and land fires.
The post is on standby 24 hours and stands around a forest and land fire-prone area around Syamsudin Noor Airport, Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan.
"We have placed the Posko in a strategic area to prevent a smog disaster from covering the airport area due to forest and land fires," said Raden Suria Fadliansyah, whose term of office was only five days ago as Acting (Pj) for the Regent of Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU), in Banjarbaru, Monday, June 26, confiscated by Antara.
He said the distribution of the posts included two posts in Banjarbaru City, one post in Banjar Regency, one post in Tanah Laut Regency and another post in Barito Kuala Regency.
He did not deny that forest and land fires in South Kalimantan were expanding in June.
Based on data compiled by the Disaster Management Operations Control Center (Pusdalops-PB) of South Kalimantan BPBD as of Monday, June 26, the total area of forest and land fires hit South Kalimantan was 184 hectares.
"BPBD personnel take turns at the five posts that we have distributed to protect the airport area from forest and land fires," he said.
According to him, the airport area is a priority in preventing the smog disaster due to forest and land fires.

Meanwhile, in Banjarbaru City, namely around Syamsudin Noor Airport, 95 hectares of natural forest and land fires are recorded until tonight.
Raden said that his party mobilized all available resources, including BPBD personnel who were alerted to guard 1x24 hours at five posts.
His party guarantees that forest and land fires do not spread to residential areas.
He asked all parties to jointly educate the public not to burn land, especially when it is approaching dry season due to hot weather.
Raden hopes that South Kalimantan BPBD personnel and related parties will continue to collaborate with each other in handling the smog disaster caused by forest and land fires in South Kalimantan, especially in Banjarbaru City.
