Grammys Issue New Rules, Ban Music Made By AI Enter All Categories
JAKARTA - Recording Academy announced a new rule banning AI-made music completely.
"Only human creators are entitled to be considered, nominated, or win a Grammy Award," the Recording Academy said in an official statement.
"A work that does not contain human writing does not meet the requirements in any Category," the statement said.
However, quoted from NME, Sunday, music works that receive assistance from AI are permitted.
"Human writing components from the work sent must be meaningful and more than just de minimist."
This means that artists can use AI as a help but the contribution of humans should be the most significant.

There are no details on how the Recording Academy intends to prove if AI is used and what exactly is considered "more than de minimist" related to human elements.
It seems that this step was carried out in the midst of talks about creativity and AI ethics.
In recent months artists including Nick Cave have denounced the use of artificial intelligence technology.
