Four Simultaneous Manufacturers Withdraw 54 Thousand Vehicles In South Korea, Here's The Problem
JAKARTA - Four manufacturers decided to make voluntary withdrawals in South Korea. The manufacturers are Kia Corp., Volkswagen Group Korea, Ford Sales and Service Korea, and Stellantis Korea.
The number of vehicles affected was 54,412 units from nine different models. Some of these models have their own damage and obstacles resulting in a recall.
Quoted on the Yonhap page, Tuesday, June 7, one of Kia Ray's mini cars has problems with the software in the dashboard. Meanwhile, VW ID.4 had problems with the faulty door locking system.
One of Stellantis' brands, Jeep, also recalled Stellantis Korea's Grand Cherokee, with problems with the assembly of intermediary axes on transmission.
Vehicle owners can visit repair centers and services designated by these companies to replace components for free.
This is not the first time these models have been affected by the recall. Previously, VW ID.4 had to be withdrawn because the door could open on its own when the car was traveling at low speed.
At that time, VW withdrew 35,325 ID.4 units because the door handle did not meet specifications and made a recall on the car produced in December 2020 to December 2022.
