KPAI Strictly Condemns Rape Of Minors By Brimob Personnel And 10 Other Perpetrators In Central Sulawesi
Commissioner of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Retno Listyarti strongly condemns Brimob and 10 other perpetrators who raped a 16-year-old boy at a food stall, Parigi Mautong, Central Sulawesi (Sulteng).
"Strict action and legal process of the alleged perpetrators, because having intercourse with children is a criminal act, because for child victims there is no concept of consent and consent to children. This is based on the Child Protection Act," said Retno in her statement, Wednesday, May 31.
Retno explained that the background of the victim was the child of a separated family, thus forcing him to work to earn money alone.
Furthermore, without realizing it, said Retno, the restaurant she chose to make money, turned out to be a proposition. This also made the victim trapped in the rape act.
Therefore, he asked the police to investigate the restaurant to find out the truth of the information.
"The victim started working in a restaurant since April 2022, and the victim did not know that at the restaurant there were female servants who opened prostitution services. This of course needs to be investigated more deeply by the police," he said.

On the other hand, Retno asked the public to support the victim by trusting the boy's 16 stories and complaints. What's more, netizens also gave positive comments to the victim.
Comments on social media should be positive to strengthen the victim, not blame the victim. Because at the age of 15, without parental care, of course the victim is not thinking maturely and does not understand the risks, is easily persuaded and lured, especially by people he knows," he concluded.
Previously, it was reported that the Parigi Moutong Police (Parimo), Central Sulawesi, had named 10 suspects in immoral cases against minors.
"The witnesses who have been examined by both the victim's witnesses, then the parents and friends around them are 10 people, so yesterday we agreed from the investigators to determine 10 suspects," said Parimo Police Chief AKBP Yudy Arto Wiyono in Palu.
Of the 10 people who have been named as suspects, five people have been detained while five others are still in the process of being picked up and arrested by police investigators. Currently, the victim is still receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Palu City.
"As a result of this incident, the victim is traumatized and is currently receiving hospitalization at a hospital in Palu because he is still experiencing pain in the stomach," he said.
