Prosecutor's Office Examines Former Untad Chancellor Regarding Alleged Corruption Cases
PALU - The Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has again summoned two former Chancellors of Tadulako University (Untad) Palu for questioning regarding the alleged state loss of more than Rp1.7 billion at the International Publication and Collaborative Center (IPCC) on campus.
"The Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office did a re-examination so that we asked for information from the former chancellor," said Head of Legal Information for the Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Mohammad Ronald after the examination of a number of Untad officials in Palu as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 15.
He explained that the two former top Untad officials summoned by the prosecutor's office were Muhammad Basir Cyio who was the former rector in 2015-2019, and Prof Mahfudz who was the former rector in 2019-2023. Apart from the two former rectors, including Prof. Merry Napitupulu, a lecturer at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) was also summoned, but was not present.
"Three people were summoned to provide information, but only two people were present, while one was still unable, because they were outside the area," he explained.
At the summons, Prof Mahfudz gave information from 09.00 WITA to 13.00 WITA, while Muhammad Basir started at 14.00 WITA to 15.30 WITA.
According to him, the results of the case title exposure at the Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office are necessary to further deepen and additional information from a number of parties who have previously been summoned is also needed.
"It is necessary to re-investigate and there are things that are considered insufficient, so that the previous people who gave the information are called again," he said.

He said the Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office had also asked 24 people for information regarding the alleged corruption on the Untad campus which was reported by the Campus Care Group (KPK). Most of these 24 people have the status of State Civil Apparatus (ASN).
"There is no information yet whether a new name will be called or stuck in the 24 people who have been called back to provide additional information," said Ronald.
The Untad KPK reported this alleged corruption based on the findings of the BPK RI, as contained in the report on the results of the 2021 financial statements (LHP-LK) at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) with a state loss of more than IDR 1.7 billion. In addition, there are also similar findings originating from the results of the examination by the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Education and Culture related to domestic official travel and fictitious activities worth Rp574 million.
