Absent From Police Examination, Suspect Of Harassment Of Andalas University Student Reasons For Umrah

SUMBAR - One of the suspects in the case of harassment against a student at Andalas University is absent from the police investigation.

West Sumatra Police Chief (West Sumatra) Inspector General Pol Suharyono said the reason the suspect's initials H could not be examined was carrying out Umrah worship.

"We are updating, indeed from the male suspect being in Umrah. Later, after returning to Umrah, we will continue our investigation as suspects," he said in Padang, West Sumatra, Monday, April 3, which was confiscated by Antara.

Meanwhile, the investigation of suspect N took place on Friday, March 31. However, suspect N was not immediately detained.

Suharyono ensured that the investigation into the sexual harassment case involving the suspect, a student lover of the Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University, was still in progress.

He said the suspect was a student and a student as a complete part of this case so that his party was still waiting for a complete examination after the suspect returned home.

"Although we split their case files, with splits there must be direct examination of suspects. Don't worry, there will definitely be developments," he said.

He confirmed that the police are currently waiting for the return of the male suspect who is carrying out the Umrah pilgrimage.

"Women have been examined. But later they will be the same, the process will be the same," he said.

Inspector General of Police Suharyono emphasized that his party would not look at the background of the suspect's family. This answers that one of the suspects came from the family of a former official.

"Still, we do not look at who is concerned and for sure we, the detective staff said that the law must be enforced and the process goes according to the procedure," he said.

Previously, the alleged sexual harassment by the lovers was taking photos and making videos of students sleeping on the boarding house. Some of them took off their clothes while sleeping.

The campus said the total number of victims of abuse reached 12 people while the police were currently investigating 8 victims.
