300 Shells and 9 Firecracker Printing Equipment Secured from an Empty House in Batang, Central Java
BATANG - Batang Resort Police, Central Java, seized 300 firecracker shells and 9 firecracker tools from an empty house in Kasepuhan Village, Batang District, Central Java City.
Batang Resort Police Chief AKBP Saufi Salamun said that the discovery of hundreds of firecracker shells was due to information from the public who were suspicious of their existence in the empty house.
"We received the information, then conducted an investigation and visited the empty house and found hundreds of firecracker shells that had not been filled with explosives", he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 28.
A total of 300 firecracker shells and 9 tools for making firecrackers were then taken to the Batang City Police Headquarters.
He, who was accompanied by the Head of the Batang City Police Sector AKP Achmad Almunasifi, invited the community to work together to create a cool climate and promote security and public order during Ramadan and Eid.
In addition, he continued, to the public who are aware of the production of firecrackers to report it to the police as soon as possible.
"Let's maintain solemnity in carrying out fasting worship and the conduciveness of community and community security until Eid", he said.

He said, together with the TNI, the village/kelurahan government worked together to socialize and campaign against the dangers of setting off firecrackers for themselves and others.
