Baby Crying Until Death In A Hut In Kampung Jawa, Lampung, Police Name 1 Child Perpetrator
JAKARTA - The Pesisir Barat Police arrested JN, a child perpetrator suspected of committing violence against a baby to death in Kampung Jawa Pekon (Village), Pesisir Barat District, Lampung.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pesisir Barat Police Iptu Riki Nopariansyah said the child perpetrator was arrested on Saturday, March 11.
"Yes, we have detained JN (16) whose address is Pekon Walur, South Krui District, who is suspected of committing violence against children which resulted in the loss of life, which is regulated in the Child Protection Act," said Iptu Riki, on the Pesisir Barat, Lampung, Monday, March 14th, as reported by Antara.
He explained that the incident started with the loud noises of a baby that was seen by three witnesses AL, AW, and FE at the Pekon Kampung Jawa security guard post on Saturday, March 11 at around 23.30 WIB.
When approached, it turned out that there was a man with the initials JN and a woman YA who was giving birth to a baby.
The two then asked the witnesses to find a midwife. At that time witnesses AL, AW, and FE saw the suspect JN cover the baby's mouth so that no crying sounds came out.
FE immediately moved to pat JN's shoulder and said: "Don't do that the baby will die."
Then the initiative witnesses said to call the nurses and midwives here. A moment later, JN and YA, who heard this, immediately took the baby and hid in the bushes beside the school.
The perpetrator JN covered the baby's mouth so he didn't make a sound and then allegedly strangled the baby's neck from the front so he didn't make a sound.
Iptu Riki said, from information from residents regarding this matter, the local Tekab Polres team immediately moved to search and at around 02.00 WIB the team stopped the motorcycle that was found with three pillions carrying a baby.
Then the team immediately took him to the Pesisir Tengah Health Center, and after checking the baby's condition had died, and YA was immediately hospitalized at the Pesisir Tengah Health Center.
Iptu Riki added, after that, the team immediately carried out a series of investigations examining witnesses at the crime scene (TKP) and the suspected JN perpetrators, as well as securing some evidence.

The local police then conducted a case title, and as a result of the case title it was found that there was an act against the law that led to an investigation after examining witnesses AL, AW, FE then YA. Found or fulfilled two pieces of evidence in this case, so the police named JN as the child perpetrator.
Because the victims who died were children and the perpetrators were also children, the local police used the Child Protection Act to catch the perpetrators.
The modus operandi of the perpetrator did this, because he did not want other people to know about him, considering he wanted to continue his studies.
As a result of his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 80 (3) in conjunction with Article 76C of RI Law Number 35 of 2014 Amendments to RI Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with RI Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Justice System or Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning Murder which carries a penalty of 15 years in prison.
