Although The World Is 'Unfriendly', BI Governor Perry Warjiyo Is Optimistic That Indonesia's Economic Growth In 2023 Will Reach 5.1 Percent
JAKARTA - Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Perry Warjiyo hopes that national economic growth in 2023 can reach 5.1 percent.
"This year, God willing, our economic growth will reach a midpoint of 4.9 percent, with China's economy improving it is expected to reach 5.1 percent," said Perry Warjiyo at the National Seminar on Rising Together and Increasingly Empowered which was organized by the Alumni Family of SMAN 3 Surakarta Roemah Tiga, at the Alila Solo Hotel, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Friday 3 March.
He said that as stated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), currently the world is not friendly.
"We don't know when the war between Russia and Ukraine will end. We can see that America and China are still at war, which has an impact on global economic conditions that must be watched out for," he also said.
He stated that the world economy at the end of this year had indeed declined to 2.3 percent, however, there is a chance that next year it will increase to 2.9 percent.
"When viewed from the global economy, actually China will get better. This year 4.6 percent could be 5 percent. Chances are that China will do better, let's trade and also invest with China," he said again.
Apart from that, his party also appealed to business actors in the country to trade with India, because the opportunity is quite large.
"Economic growth this year in India can be 5.8 percent, next year it can be 6.3 percent. Opportunities for India are huge, tourism, coal, energy. Even India is fond of tourism to Indonesia, including the regions of Java and Bali," he said.
Apart from that, furniture and culinary delights are also being favored by Indian consumers.
"Develop tourism there to be able to copy Indonesian culinary delights. There are different foods, but all use curry, no pecel, liwet rice, gudeg, soup. That's why someone hired a chef from West Java," he said Again.
Perry said seeing Indonesia's potential, India really wanted to trade with Indonesia, both in the fields of mining, investment, and those related to tourism and MSMEs.

Chairperson of Roemah Tiga (Roega) Monica Subiakto said Roega continued to focus on developing MSMEs, especially MSMEs that was pioneered by local school alumni.
In the future, he said again, Roega plans to build a network of assisted MSMEs like other agencies and institutions.
"It is possible that Roega has assisted MSMEs. Plus there are many young alumni who understand digitalization, so a special marketplace can be made for UMKM alumni of SMAN 3 Surakarta," he said.
