Firmly, Fadli Zon Condemns Israeli Violence And Vandalism In Huwara Nablus, Urges UN Security Council To Hold An Emergency Session
JAKARTA - Palestine is gripping again. Since Sunday, February 26, 2022, a number of Israeli illegal settlers in the city of Huwara, Nablus has committed acts of violence and destruction of Palestinian settlements. Chairman of the DPR RI Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency Dr. Fadli Zon condemned the violent acts of Israeli illegal settlers. The tragedy is the worst act of violence and brutality in recent decades.
From international media records, more than 30 houses and dozens of Palestinian cars were burned. One Palestinian was shot dead and around 400 Palestinians were injured.
"The DPR RI Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency strongly condemns the act of thuggery and vandalism by the Israeli illegal settlers. There must be no condonation of any act of violence, including the brutality of illegal Israeli settlers against Palestinians," he said in a written statement received by the VOI editorial team, Wednesday, March 1.
Impunity
“It is difficult to turn a blind eye that all this time Israel was given the status of exceptional treatment which allowed it to continue committing crimes with complete impunity. Meanwhile, the Palestinian people are asked to refrain, not to defend themselves."
“We urge the UN Security Council to immediately take concrete steps to stop all forms of Israeli violence. Moreover, the brutality at Huwara Nablus is strongly suspected of being protected and even supported by unscrupulous international actors and the security forces of Israel's radical right-wing regime. The statement by the Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al Maliki, who strongly suspects that there are international actors protecting Israel from accountability, must be taken seriously by the UN Security Council."
VOIR éGALEMENT:
"The BKSAP DPR RI also continues to support the Government of Indonesia to always be proactive in putting pressure on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting on the situation in Palestine. This is a political step that must be taken as part of the constitutional mandate for Indonesia's foreign policy which condemns all acts of violence against humanity.”
"We will carry out parliamentary diplomacy in response to this tragedy. BKSAP DPR RI will again raise the issue of Palestine at the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), on March 11-15 in Manama, Bahrain. We have prepared a draft resolution related to Palestine to the assembly so that it is adopted as an emergency item," said Fadli Zon.
