Uninhabitable Houses In Solo Reaches 5,000, Even With The UAE Funds Will Still Remain 1,400 Units

JAKARTA - The Surakarta City Government continues to suppress the existence of uninhabitable houses (RTLH) in Solo by making repairs.

"The point is we are reducing it. On Tuesday (7/2) we inaugurated Losari, yes, the inauguration of livable houses," said Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo, Friday 3 February.

The number of livable housing in the Losari area in the Semanggi sub-district, Pasar Kliwon sub-district, Solo, which will be inaugurated next week, is 137 units.

When asked about the possibility of CSR funds coming from private companies to fund repairs to uninhabitable houses, he made sure that they would be obtained.

"There will be later, I'll look for it slowly," he said, quoted by Antara.

Previously, the Head of the Surakarta City Housing, Settlement Area and Land Office (Disperum KPP), Taufan Basuki said that in accordance with directions from Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, there was funding from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government for the handling of RTLH in Solo City.

"It is hoped that in 2023, these funds from the UAE can help significantly. If there is more or less potential, we can handle around 2,500 housing units this year," he said.

He said that overall the potential for uninhabitable houses in Solo City reaches around 5,000 units.

With various government efforts to obtain funding, one of them is from the Government of the UAE. It is hoped that the number of RTLH by the end of this year will only leave 1,400 units.
