Lukas Enembe Will Not Be Allowed To Seek Treatment Abroad, KPK: Gatot Soebroto Hospital Facilities Are Adequate
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will not grant permission for medical treatment abroad for the inactive Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe. Hospitals in the country are believed to be able to treat the number one person in Papua.
"We will not facilitate those concerned to seek treatment abroad," said Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission Alexander Marwata in the KPK RI YouTube broadcast, Tuesday, January 17.
Alexander said health facilities in Jakarta could treat Lukas' disease. So, there is no urgent interest to take him there.
"With the health facilities available in Jakarta, the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in particular, the person concerned can already (treat, ed) his illness," said Alexander.
"So there is no need to seek treatment abroad," he continued.

Previously, Lukas was detained after he was named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratuities for project procurement at the Papua Provincial Government. During detention, he appeared to be using a wheelchair.
In this case, it is suspected that Lukas received money from the director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua, Rijantono Lakka, so that the company could get the project. It is suspected that this collusion was also carried out by officials in the Papua Provincial Government.
The agreement between them is to provide a fee of 14 percent of the contract value. Fees must be net of tax deductions.
At least, there are three projects that Rijantono got for this evil agreement. The first is the improvement of the Entrop-Hamadi Road with a project value of IDR 14.8 billion.
Rehabilitation of supporting facilities and infrastructure for Integration PAUD with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion. Finally, the venue environmental management project is developing the AURI outdoor with a project value of IDR 12.9 billion.
After the project was won, Rijantono handed over IDR 1 billion to Lukas. In addition, Lukas is also suspected of receiving gratuities of up to billions of rupiah.
