Brought From Tangerang To Bogor, Scavenger Boy Manages To Escape From Kidnapper

TANGERANG - A boy with the initials R (11), a resident of Pinang, Tangerang City, managed to escape from a man who kidnapped him. R, ran away when the perpetrator was off guard. Luckily, the boy who works as a scavenger every day can come home to meet his family.

R was kidnapped by a man who took him to the Bogor area, West Jaw. The Head of the Tangerang City Metro Police, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho, said the finding of the boy who was abducted in Bogor matched the report of a missing child which occurred on Sunday, January 15, at 19.30 WIB.

Zain said that the kidnapping started when the victim was scavenging used goods with two of his peers, F (12) and R (12). Suddenly they were approached by an unknown man dressed as an online motorcycle taxi (Ojol) driver.

"The victim was promised to take the suitcase and be paid IDR 20,000," said Zain in his statement, Tuesday, January 17.

Then the victim was taken by the perpetrator to the Al-Azhom Mosque in Tangerang City, then to Monas, Central Jakarta, after that the victim was taken to Rumpin Bogor.

"When in the Ciseeng area, Rumpin Bogor, the perpetrator left the victim to urinate in the bushes on the side of the road, that's when the victim used to escape from the perpetrator's kidnapping attempt," explained Zain.

At the Tangerang - Bogor border monument, the victim cried and asked for help from a passer-by named Dendi Maulana (20). By Dendi, R was invited to his house. The next morning the victim was brought home to the Gempol area, Pinang District.

"The victim was then taken by a bamboo worker in Gempol, Pinang to his house, thank God he is in good condition and healthy," he explained.

Zain said he would investigate this case to reveal the identity of the perpetrator. Meanwhile, to restore the psychology of victims, his party has sent a team of assistance from the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) and the Integrated Women and Children Empowerment Service Center (P2TP2A).

"The PPA and P2TP2A units are currently providing assistance to restore the child's psychology," he concluded.
