BMKG Asks Users of the Trans Flores NTT Road to Beware of the Threat of Strong Winds Until January 9
NTT - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded users of the Trans Flores Road in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to be aware of the potential for heavy rain accompanied by strong winds until Monday, January 9.
He warned that strong winds could cause trees to fall so that they hit vehicles or houses. Another impact is the fall of billboards on the street.
"If crossing during bad weather, please be vigilant. There is the potential for flooding, landslides, and fallen trees," said BMKG Head of the Komodo Labuan Bajo Meteorology Station, Sti Nenotek in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, Wednesday, January 4.
Sti also conveyed this appeal to residents residing in West Manggarai. As a precaution, he asked residents to prune tree branches that were too high and easily brittle when shaken by strong winds.
"For 12 sub-districts in West Manggarai, they are alert for the potential for strong winds, rain, and lightning," he said on Antara.
Sti conveyed that this condition could change at any time, according to the weather forecast from the BMKG. He also asked the public to always monitor weather information from the BMKG before traveling, either out of town or during activities.
Meanwhile, residents who live on the coast are asked to be vigilant regarding the potential for strong winds and tidal flooding.
"Residents are asked not to carry out activities during strong winds, especially when accompanied by heavy rain and lightning," he stated.
