Zebedee Survey Shows 67 Percent of Like to Play Games with the Lure of Crypto
JAKARTA – According to a survey, while some gamers oppose the integration of non-fungible tokens (NFT) for games, most are willing to play if given the opportunity to earn cryptocurrency.
In an announcement, fintech company Zeebedee published the results of a study that surveyed United States-based gamers to measure their exposure to cryptocurrencies and their sentiment towards blockchain gaming.
Researchers found that 67% of respondents were more likely to play a free game if the game offered crypto rewards. Of the survey participants, 45% believe that there are advantages to exchanging game characters and items with other gamers. While 23% said that it might have a negative impact. The remaining 32% did not comment.
In addition, this study also found that 27% of respondents are interested in earning Bitcoins in games, while only 5% are interested in earning NFTs. This suggests that more gamers are interested in earning BTC in play-to-earn (P2E) games than simply earning NFTs.
According to Ben Cousens, chief strategy officer of Zeebedee, one of the highlights of this survey is that most gamers have a positive or neutral opinion about crypto rewards. Additionally, the executive noted that interest in Bitcoin is also high.

Of the respondents holding cryptocurrency, the researchers found that 55% did not hold cryptocurrency. The rest hold Bitcoin, Ether
Meanwhile, another survey published on July 15 revealed that one in three gamers are interested in using crypto in the metaverse. The survey also highlights that the concept of P2E games is well received, with 40% of gamers looking to play and make money within the metaverse.
