Subang Regency Farmer, Efrizal Ali, who is a farmer fostered by PT Pupuk Kujang, donated 2 tons of fresh pineapple for earthquake victims in Cianjur, West Java."We also empathize with earthquake victims in Cianjur. As farmers, we donate pineapple. That's why we are currently able to do that," said Efrizal, in a statement received in Karawang, Antara, Sunday, December 4.The fresh pineapple aid was distributed to the Pupuk Kujang Command Post, Benjot Village, Cugenang District. In addition, Efrizal also distributed pineapple through the Infaq Zakat Infaq and Sadaqah Muhammadiyah Institutions.Efrizal hopes that the nutrients from the pineapple he planted can be useful for the victims who are still surviving in the evacuation.The aid was received by residents in the refugee camps. When Efrizal distributed pieces of pineapple fruit, the refugees, both adults and children, welcomed and ate fresh pineapple happily.Based on data collection from the Pupuk Kujang Command Post, currently there are 342 residents of Benjot Village who have taken refuge in the Pupuk Indonesia Group Joint Command Post. Until now, various assistance from Pupuk Indonesia Group continues to be provided.The displaced residents do need additional nutrition. Because, since staying in refugee camps two weeks ago, said Ujang, most refugees eat instant food.Efrizal Ali, apart from being a pineapple farmer, is also the head of the Singalang Sari Maju Cooperative from Sarireja Village, Jalancagak District, Subang Regency.Efrizal and pineapple farmers in Sarireja have received assistance in pineapple cultivation from Pupuk Kujang since 2012.Until now, Efrizal continues to be accompanied by Pupuk Kujang and has succeeded in developing derivative and processed pineapple products, ranging from drinks, processed foods, chips, biological fertilizers to pineapple fabrics.
