2023 WSBK Provisional Calendar Is Released, Mandalika Circuit Schedule Shifted Due To MotoGP
JAKARTA - The provisional World Superbike calendar (WSBK) for the 2023 season has been officially released. Next season's WSBK will take place in 12 series, one of which will be held in Indonesia.
However, there is a difference in terms of schedule. The Mandalika Circuit will host the second series. This is the first time after the previous two seasons, Mandalika has always been held in November 2022.
The transfer of the schedule for the Mandalika series cannot be separated from the 2023 MotoGP calendar. As is known, the MotoGP race in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara has also been shifted to October 13-15.
For next season, the Mandalika Circuit will hold the WSBK race on March 3-5. One week after the opening series which for the first time was held at the Philip Island Circuit, Australia.
After two straight races in Asia and a gap of six weeks, the championship heads to mainland Europe starting with the TT Assen Circuit, Netherlands on April 21-23, where the WorldSSP300 class will be paving the way for the first time next season.
From the Netherlands, the race continues to Catalunya (5-7 May), Misano (2-4 June), and Donington Park which will mark the half of the season on 30 June-2 July.
Entering the second half of the season, Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic returns to race for the third time in the mass-produced motorcycle racing championship on 28-30 July.
In August the championship took a summer break before resuming competition to Magny-Cours, France on September 8-10.
MotorLand Aragon, Spain (22-24 September) and Algarve Circuit, Portugal (29 September-1 October) will be the second straight series next season.
Then the San Juan Villicum Circuit will host the Argentine series for the fifth time in WorldSBK history on October 13-15 before the final series, which is still awaiting confirmation for its location, according to the official WorldSBK website as quoted via Antara, Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
