Lunar Eclipse Expected To Occur On November 8, Ministry Of Religion Invites People To Pray Khusuf
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) invites Muslims to perform solemn prayers or eclipse prayers in line with the upcoming total lunar eclipse on November 8, 2022.
"The eclipse prayer is carried out according to the situation and conditions of each region," said Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religion, Kamaruddin Amin in Jakarta, Friday, November 4.
Kamaruddin said the call to hold eclipse prayers had been conveyed to the Heads of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion to be forwarded to other staff under them, including local government officials, ulama, and mosque imams.
"We also urge the public to multiply dhikr, istighfar, alms, and other good deeds, and pray for the welfare and progress of the nation," he said.
Based on astronomical data, he said, a total lunar eclipse will occur in all parts of Indonesia.
The total lunar eclipse in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Bengkulu can be seen on contact Umbra 3 (U3) at 18:42 WIB.

Meanwhile, people in Riau, Jambi, Riau Islands, Bangka Belitung, South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, D.I. Yogyakarta, East Java, and West Kalimantan, can see the eclipse at the peak time of the eclipse, which is 17.59 WIB.
Then, the eclipse can be seen on Umbra 2 (U2) contact from 17.16-19.16 WIT in Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, North Sulawesi, North Maluku and Maluku.
