KPK Will Go To Jayapura, Lukas Enembe's Group: We Remain Cooperative

JAKARTA - Papua Governor Lukas Enembe will certainly cooperate with the team from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He is ready to be examined if his condition permits.

"The point is that we remain cooperative, if Mr. (Lukas Enembe, ed) is healthy and able to answer questions, please continue," said Lukas Enembe's lawyer, Roy Rening in a written statement, Wednesday, October 26.

"But if you can't answer because you're sick, stop," he continued.

Roy said that Luke's condition is currently still in a state of illness. When found, he was in a state of difficulty walking and unable to speak clearly.

Furthermore, Roy ensured that the independent team and KPK leaders who would come to Jayapura would be guaranteed their safety. The presence of the governor's supporters will certainly not interfere with the work of the anti-corruption commission.

Previously, the KPK confirmed that it would dispatch its doctors who are members of the independent team of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) to Jayapura. They will check the health of Lukas Enembe, who is now a suspect in a corruption case.

In addition to dispatching an independent team, it is planned that a leader will also meet Lukas. However, it has not been decided who will go there.

The KPK has also not specified when the KPK leadership and the team will depart for Jayapura. They only confirmed their destination to Jayapura to respect Luke's human rights.
