FreeWire EV Ultra-fast Charging Debuts at Phillips 66 . Main Station
JAKARTA - Some time ago, Phillips 66, an energy industry company from the United States announced the installation of a FreeWire ultra-fast electric vehicle charger at a station near its Houston headquarters.
Its installation in Houston marks the debut of ultra-fast EV charging at convenient fuel stations in the US.
Phillips 66 and FreeWire announced plans earlier this year to implement FreeWire's integrated ultrafast battery technology to meet the growing demand from EV drivers for high-speed charging on the go.
Phillips 66 will leverage its network of approximately 7,000 Phillips 66, Conoco and 76 branded sites in the US and other strategic locations. The first FreeWire charger was commissioned in Texas.
“The installation of the first FreeWire EV charger in our flagship Phillips 66 fuel station is an important step in our EV charging journey as well as our commitment to pursuing a low-carbon solution,” said Rod Palmer, Vice President of US Marketing at Phillips 66 in an announcement shared here. Palmer added that he thought the FreeWire chargers offered the fast charging experience they were looking for, and the Phillips 66-branded network of refueling locations puts chargers in strategically located locations.
The introduction of the EV charger reflects Phillips 66's commitment to working to meet the world's growing energy needs while reducing its environmental footprint.
The company has focused its Emerging Energy and Sustainability business strategy on four pillars, namely, renewable fuels, batteries, carbon capture, and hydrogen.
