FIFA Will Have An Office In Indonesia, Jokowi: We Will Prepare It As Soon As Possible

JAKARTA - FIFA President Gianni Infantino said his office would be based in Indonesia. He stated that after that reforming national football would be a priority.

"Our priority when we were here and when we set up the FIFA office in Indonesia was to reform football in this country," Infantino said, as reported by Antara.

FIFA's intention to have an office in Indonesia has actually been conveyed through a letter sent to President Joko Widodo, some time ago.

This was done by FIFA in the context of the transformation of Indonesian football. Later, FIFA representatives will accompany the Indonesian government to improve the governance of national football.

"We will bring the experts we have to help and investigate, we will make sure Indonesia shines on the world football stage," Infantino said.

FIFA's plan to have an office in Indonesia received a positive response from President Jokowi.

"We will prepare this as soon as possible," said Jokowi when asked about the FIFA office.

As is known, President Jokowi and President FIFA held a meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 18, 2022. The meeting discussed post-tragedy national football in Kanjuruhan Malang.
